Flatbed Semi Driver Job Description:

We are searching for an experienced self-motivated over the road and regional flatbed semi-truck driver to join our family-owned freight company. Please review the list of responsibilities and qualifications below.

Work Hours and Benefits:
● This position is regional and over the road
● Monday-Friday
● Weekends are optional
● Pay is between 24%-30% of each load successfully delivered DOE
● Pay is weekly
● Paid holidays
● Detention pay
● TONU pay
● Partial phone bill reimbursement

Responsibilities:
● Drive and operate 13-speed Semi with attached 48’ flatbed trailer
● Follow instructions; locate and read location and road maps
● Pick up goods and materials, verify loads for accuracy, and deliver them as instructed.
● Must be able to strap and chain freight down in compliance with DOT regulations
● Verify loaded material prior to shipping
● Verify unloaded material after shipping
● Must be able to complete and verify paperwork for accuracy
● Must be able to receive and send shipping documents and images of freight
● Must know how to tarp flatbed freight
● Must be mechanically inclined
● Driver is responsible for the mechanical well-being of the semi at all times
● Must conduct Pre-trip and Post-trip inspections of tractor and trailer units, in compliance         with DOT regulations
● Must maintain and comply with ELD DOT log procedures/ regulations
● Must obey all traffic laws
● Perform basic vehicle maintenance tasks, such as adding oil, fuel, radiator fluid, and               coolant, and/or performing minor repairs as needed policies, and processes at all times
● Must notify the supervisor of any mechanical issues on equipment immediately

● Must wear PPE
● Must live within 50 miles of zip code 67010
● Must comply with all safe work practices
● Must maintain clean/ organized tractor and trailer
● Must be able to plan routes using GPS
● Must report defects, accidents or violations
●Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions (etc)


Skills and Qualifications:
● Must carry and maintain an active Class A CDL with no restrictions
● Must have a DOT physical within the last 2 years
● Must have at least 1 year of CDL tractor-trailer road experience
● Ability to lift 80 pounds repeatedly throughout the day
● Ability to climb up and down equipment as needed
● Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly
● Must have knowledge of ELD
● High school diploma and/or GED
● Must be 21 or older
● Able to pass pre-screening and random drug tests
● Must be willing to submit a background check
● Must have a clean motor vehicle record
● Listening and verbal communication skills
● Dependability
● Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations
